It was not too long ago that we were taking pictures by the film, and now technology has taken over and pictures can be taken in half a second by using our cell phones. However, many photographers need special lenses and cameras in order to their job the correct way, and while technology has significantly increased over the past few years, prices on these expensive cameras have stayed high. Today I am going to give you 5 cameras under 20000 that will be perfect to start your photography business with. All the cameras listed come with everything you need to get started and that’s a budget most everyone can work with. So, sit down and take a look at these fantastic camera’s I have come across through my research.

Canon EOS 1100d

The Canon EOS 100d comes in the right around 18000. It is the perfect entry-level camera, and it comes in 3 different colours if you do not want the regular old black camera. It has 12 megapixels CMOS sensor, a 2.7 inch LCD screen, 720p HD video capture capability, 3fps continuous shooting modes, and 9 autofocus points which is why it makes it to the top of cameras under 20000.

Pros:

The Canon EOS 1100d is not just a camera under 20000 but it is reasonably priced at 18000. It is very light weighing about 1 pound, it is easy to navigate, takes good photos depending on the lens you use, and it takes good movie clips.

Cons:

It has a plastic look to it, the lens kit that comes with it needs to be replaced because it is very poor, the battery is not enough for you to take many photos, there is no autofocus in the videos, and there is no matrix clean system you have to do it manually.

Nikon D3100

The Nikon D3100 is around 20000. It is another great entry-level camera. It has 14.2 megapixels CMOS sensor, 3.0 inch LCD screen; it has 1080p; 720p; or WVGA video capability, and it also has 11 autofocus points along with 3D tracking.

Pros:

The Nikon D3100 is lightweight and compact, good low light performance, excellent image quality, easy to use, shoots HD videos, and a comfortable body.

Cons:

Body balance is awkward, it has low-resolution LCD, the autofocus makes noise in movie mode, and it has a fixed LCD screen.

Pentax Q10

This comes in around 19000 and is one of the cutest cameras under 20000. It is very tiny and interchangeable lens camera. It has a point and shoot size sensor. However, it does not perform the same as other cameras in its price range. For the price I have to say there are better cameras than this one but here are the pros and cons so you can decide for yourself.

Pros:

This camera is very compact, it has excellent access to manual controls, and it has Raw shooting support.

Cons:

  • While the Pentax Q10 camera is under 20,000, it has more cons than pros. It is sluggish, and its kit lens is soft at maximum zoom.
  • The images taken by Pentax Q10 lack detail at very high ISOs and has no EVF option.

FujiFilm FinePix S6800

This particular camera is around 12000, and enters the segment of cameras under 20000 by a large margin. It has 16 megapixels, it has a 3.0 LCD screen, 720p HD video recording capability, and it has 17 elements in 12 groups.

Pros:

The FujiFilm FinePix S6800 has a long battery life, it is listed at a great price, it has 30x optical zoom, a rubberish grip, so it is less likely to slip out of your hands, and it takes great close up shots.

Cons:

It only has 720p video recording capability, it has exposure and white balance issues, and it has a plastic body look to it.

Nikon L840

The Nikon L840 has 16-megapixel sensor; it has an optical zoom of up to 38x, it has a 3.0 inch LCD screen, it has full 1080p HD video capability, and it also has built-in WI-FI. What could be better than that? It also comes in right under 18000. This is another great starter photography camera. On this one, you will be able to see how the pros definitely outweigh the cons. The Nikon L840 is perfect to capture those quick pictures. If you are looking for perfect cameras under 20000, this one is definitely worth every penny.

Pros:

As I said before it has built in WI-FI, it has NFC connectivity, image stabilisation, articulating screen, a high shutter speed and fast continuous shooting, and it comes with a remote control. The other benefit to this one is it has a long battery life.

Cons:

There is no external flash shoe, it is not a touch screen, it is heavy, there is no manual focusing or manual exposure, and there is no environmental seal on it.
